The spider plate is the central rotating hub assembly that connects trowel arms to the power trowel's drive shaft, translating rotational power into the sweeping motion that finishes concrete. This 4-blade configuration is designed for 1-1/8 inch shaft applications and serves as the mounting point for trowel arms, bronze bushings, and pitch adjustment components.

According to Multiquip service documentation, the spider plate should be thoroughly inspected during blade changes and maintenance intervals. Wire brush any concrete or rust build-up from the assembly. Examine the entire spider plate for damage or out-of-round conditions - if any components are damaged or warped, replace the spider assembly immediately. Each trowel arm attaches to the spider plate with a hex head bolt featuring a zerk grease fitting.
