The steering cylinder is a critical hydraulic component that controls directional movement in trench roller operations. This steering piston assembly connects to the valve block hydraulic lines (connections A3 and B3) and requires proper installation with blue threadlocker adhesive on threaded pins, torqued to 100 Nm specifications. During replacement procedures, sealing washers must be mounted and all fastening pins lubricated, with grease applied to front and back nipples after installation. The steering pressure drain valve on the valve block should maintain between 60-75 bar at engine speeds of 2380-2430 rpm for proper operation.

This cylinder works in conjunction with hydraulic hoses 017 and 018, which must be reconnected after installation. Technicians should inspect fastening pins for corrosion and clean thoroughly before mounting.
