Multiquip 1722790 Steering Cylinder - OEM Replacement Part

The steering cylinder is a critical hydraulic component that powers the left and right steering movements on trench rollers. This piston assembly connects to the valve block via hydraulic hoses 017 and 018, with connection point B3 controlling left steering functions. When this cylinder fails, operators experience stiff or unresponsive steering, inability to return to center position, or complete loss of directional control.

Installation requires proper torque specifications: tighten mounting nuts to 100 Nm after applying blue threadlocker to fastening pins. Clean and lubricate all fastening pins before assembly, mount the sealing washer, and lubricate both front and rear grease nipples after installation. The cylinder must move smoothly and return easily to zero position under spring force from both directions—any stiffness indicates mechanical damage requiring immediate replacement.
