The L-R control arm is a critical component in ride-on trowel steering and blade control systems, directly affecting the flatness and pitch consistency of your concrete finishing operations. This arm connects the operator's steering controls to the trowel spider assembly, translating input into precise blade positioning.

During routine maintenance, technicians should inspect trowel arms for flatness using a true steel plate or granite surface, checking clearance between the round shaft and test surface with a 0.005" feeler gauge as each flat hex section rests on the surface. Uneven clearance or bent arms must be replaced to prevent uneven finishing and maintain consistent blade pitch across all trowel arms.

The trowel arm adjustment tool (P/N 1817) is recommended for consistent adjustment of all control arms, ensuring the finisher maintains optimal flatness and even pitch. Each arm bolt should be adjusted to contact the fixture stop for uniform performance across the entire spider assembly.
