The upper handle assembly is a critical operator interface component for Multiquip walk-behind power trowels, providing ergonomic control and housing the Quick Pitch™ folding mechanism for transport and storage. This assembly includes the upper handlebar with integrated swing bolt system, T-handle knob for securing the handle in upright or stowed position, and hinge plate mounting hardware. The Quick Pitch™ design allows operators to quickly fold the handle toward the gearbox for compact storage and unfold it to the upright operating position using the spring-loaded adjustment system.

During operation, this handle assembly transmits steering inputs from the operator—lifting up moves the trowel left, pushing down moves it right. The assembly must be properly secured with the T-handle knob turned clockwise through the hinge plate slot to prevent movement during finishing operations. When folding for storage, the Quick Pitch™ trigger should be moved forward first to avoid stretching the throttle cable. The spring-loaded mechanism requires careful handling during installation and adjustment to prevent injury or damage.
