Multiquip 23511 Driven Clutch - OEM Replacement Part for Ride-On Power Trowels

The driven clutch (also called the secondary clutch) works in tandem with the primary clutch to create a continuously variable transmission (CVT) system on ride-on power trowels. As engine RPMs increase, the drive clutch closes and forces the belt to ride outward on the drive sheaves, which simultaneously opens the driven clutch sheaves. This opening and closing action creates the ratio variation that allows for smooth power transfer and optimal blade speed control during concrete finishing operations.

The Multi-Clutch system provides belt protection through a series of centrifugal clutches, ensuring efficient power transfer to the drive shaft via constant velocity joints. This maintains proper timing of the gearboxes without slippage. During maintenance, ensure all remnants of old drive belts are removed from the sheaves and grooves of both the clutch and lower pulley assemblies. The clutch is enclosed within the belt guard assembly located on the main frame.
