The blower housing is a critical engine cooling component that directs airflow across the cylinder head and block of the Robin EH12-2D engine used in Multiquip tamping rammers. This housing ensures proper thermal management during high-impact compaction work, preventing engine overheating during continuous operation in demanding job site conditions. Without adequate cooling airflow, the air-cooled 4-stroke gasoline engine (7.38 cu.in./121 cm3 displacement) can experience reduced performance and potential damage during extended tamping operations.
The MT-74FA and MT-84FA rammers deliver 640-680 blows per minute with 3,100 lb (1,400 kg) impact force, generating significant heat that requires efficient cooling. The MT-74F operates at 680 blows/minute with similar impact force. Damaged or missing blower housing components compromise the engine's cooling system, leading to overheating, loss of power, and premature engine failure. Regular inspection of the blower housing for cracks, damage, or debris blockage is essential during routine maintenance checks.
This housing is compatible with the following Multiquip tamping rammer models:
- MT-74FA
- MT-84FA
- MT74FAF
