Multiquip 34140 Ballast/Capacitor 1000W - OEM Replacement Part for Light Towers

This ballast/capacitor assembly regulates electrical current to the 1000-watt metal halide lamps used in Multiquip light tower systems. Each LT6K series light tower uses four 1000-watt metal halide lamps that generate 440,000 lumens and provide lighting coverage for 5 to 7 acres. The ballast is a critical component in the lighting circuit, ensuring proper lamp ignition and steady-state operation by limiting current flow and providing the necessary voltage spike for metal halide lamp starting.

The LT6K light tower's lighting system is controlled by two 20-amp single-pole circuit breakers (CB2/CB3), with each breaker controlling a pair of lamps in a top/bottom configuration. When a ballast fails, symptoms typically include lamps that won't ignite, flickering lights, premature lamp failure, or tripped circuit breakers. The lighting circuits operate on the generator's 6,000-watt continuous output, with power distributed through 4x 3-pin quick disconnect plugs for each lamp assembly.
