The guide cylinder is a critical internal component in the spring cylinder assembly of Multiquip tamping rammers, providing precise linear guidance for the piston mechanism that generates the powerful compaction force. This OEM guide cylinder ensures proper alignment and smooth operation of the impact stroke system, which delivers 2,200 lbs. of force per blow at 675 blows per minute in these high-performance rammers.

In the oil bath lubrication system used by these models, the guide cylinder operates within the sealed spring cylinder housing where oil level must be monitored through the sight glass at the rear of the tamper foot.
