This narrow foot assembly serves as the critical ground contact component for the MT-62HS tamping rammer, transmitting the powerful compacting force generated by the circular motion mechanism directly to the soil surface. The foot is essential for achieving uniform soil compaction in backfilling applications for gas pipelines, water pipelines, and cable installation work.

The MT-62HS rammer develops tremendous impact force at the foot assembly, requiring this component to withstand consecutive high-force impacts while maintaining structural integrity. Operating the rammer at less than full throttle (3,850 RPM) can result in damage to the clutch springs or foot assembly. The gearbox uses an oil bath lubrication system—always verify proper oil level through the sight glass at the rear of the tamper foot before operation to prevent premature wear.
