The oil level switch assembly monitors engine oil levels and triggers the oil alert system to prevent catastrophic engine damage from low oil conditions. This critical safety component works in conjunction with the oil alert unit and oil level indicator to automatically shut down the engine when oil drops below safe operating levels, protecting expensive engine components from scoring, seizure, and complete failure.

In the CA4HM walk-behind trowel equipped with Honda GX120 or GX160 engines, this switch integrates into the engine wiring system (shown in yellow/black wire configuration) and connects directly to the transistorized ignition unit and chassis ground. The switch continuously monitors the 0.60-0.63 quart oil capacity crankcase and activates when oil falls below the minimum dipstick level.
