This 2.5-liter gray fuel tank stores unleaded gasoline for Multiquip tamping rammer engines, ensuring consistent fuel delivery during compaction operations. The tank features a secure fuel cap that must be tightened to prevent spills and includes integration with the fuel shut-off valve system that controls fuel flow to the engine.

The fuel tank is a critical component on rammers equipped with air-cooled, two-cycle gasoline engines. During operation, the fuel shut-off valve is moved downward to begin fuel flow from this tank to the engine. Proper fuel management is essential for these units, which operate at 3,850 RPM under full throttle during tamping operations. The manual specifies that refueling should only be accomplished when the engine is stopped and has had an opportunity to cool down, as contact with hot components can cause serious burns and motor fuels are highly flammable.
