The strike tube assembly is the primary rotating component in hydraulic roller screed systems that smooths and finishes concrete surfaces. This 18-foot strike tube with 0.25-inch wall thickness is driven by the hydraulic motor at variable speeds up to 450 RPM in forward or reverse rotation, allowing precise control over concrete placement and finishing operations.

Critical installation specifications from Multiquip technical documentation require the strike tube adjustment nut to be positioned so the inner edge maintains 1/16 to 1/8 inch spacing from the middle bracket. Gaps less than 1/16 inch will cause the tube to bottom out on the splined shaft, while over-tightening can bend the outer plate. The scraper bar must be adjusted to 1/8-inch clearance from the strike tube surface. Operators should never allow any objects to rub grooves into the strike tube surface, as these imperfections will transfer directly into the finished concrete.
