The rear engine mount assembly secures and stabilizes the engine to the saw frame, absorbing vibration and maintaining proper alignment of the drive system during operation. This mounting component is critical for preventing blade misalignment issues and ensuring consistent cutting performance on walk-behind concrete saws.
Proper engine mounting directly affects drive belt tension and blade shaft alignment. According to Multiquip specifications, blade shaft flanges must remain equidistant to the saw sides within +/- .030" tolerance, and the blade must maintain 90° squareness to the horizontal surface. A worn or damaged rear engine mount can compromise these alignment requirements, leading to symptoms such as blade slowing during cuts, uneven wear patterns, or the saw pulling to one side during operation.
This mount works in conjunction with the front engine mount to position the drive axles correctly. The rear drive assembly alignment is critical for maintaining the specified 3/16" offset that provides controlled steering characteristics during cutting operations.
