The blade guard main pivot enables the blade guard assembly to articulate and lock into its proper operating position on the SP1G concrete saw. This critical safety component allows the blade guard to pivot over the diamond blade during installation and maintenance, then securely lock in place with the blade guard security bolts. Operating the saw without the blade guard properly secured violates ANSI B7.1 and B7.5 safety standards and exposes operators to serious hazards—the blade exposure cannot exceed 180 degrees during operation.

This pivot maintains the structural integrity of the blade guard system, which must remain in place during all cutting operations.
