The lock pin secures the wheel kit in operating position on MVC88VTH and VTHW plate compactors, allowing safe transition between transport and compaction modes. This critical component works with the lock wire and lock holder assembly to prevent accidental wheel deployment during operation. When the compactor is tilted for wheel stowage, the lock pin ensures the wheel assembly remains locked in place until intentionally released.
