The Vas Handle Assembly (JP) is a critical control component for plate compactor operation, providing the operator interface for machine control and enabling proper axle deployment for transport mode. This assembly integrates with the lock knob and axle system to allow operators to transition between operating and transport positions by pulling the handle forward to lift the rear of the compactor and position the axle under the plate.

During axle deployment procedures, the handle assembly works in conjunction with the eye nut and stopper pin mechanism. Operators grab the handle to place it in operating position, then pull and turn the eye nut 90° to the right before moving the handle forward and reverse until the stopper pin aligns in place. The handle is then pulled back if the stopper pin is difficult to lock, ensuring secure positioning during operation or transport.
