The drive gear is a critical component in the driven rotary shaft assembly of reversible plate compactors, transferring power from the engine through the drive system to generate the high-frequency vibrations essential for soil compaction. This gear operates continuously during compaction operations, working in conjunction with eccentric rotators to produce 5,400 vibrations per minute (90 Hz) while maintaining travel speeds of approximately 89 feet per minute.

In the MVH-128GH and MVH-158GH models, this gear is part of the rotary shaft and driven assembly that houses the eccentric rotators, bearings, and piston rod components. The gear meshes with the drive system submerged in SAE 10W-30 lubricant within the vibration case (350cc capacity).
