This replacement engine assembly is designed for the Multiquip MVH208GH reversible plate compactor, providing the power source for high-frequency vibratory compaction operations. The MVH208GH utilizes different Honda engine models depending on serial number: units with S/N F2108 and below use the Honda GX240UT2SMXC gasoline engine (7.1 HP at 3600 RPM, 16.48 cu-in displacement), while units with S/N F2115 and above are equipped with the Honda GX270UT2SCM gasoline engine (8.6 HP at 3600 RPM, 270cc displacement). Both are air-cooled, 4-stroke gasoline engines with recoil start capability.

These engines drive an eccentric weight at high speed to generate the 8,317.93 lbf centrifugal force and 5,200 vpm vibration frequency required for effective soil compaction. The engine operates with a 1.4 gallon fuel tank capacity using unleaded 86 octane or higher gasoline, and requires 1.16 quarts (1.1 liters) of oil. Engine specifications include a 3.03 in. x 2.28 in. cylinder bore and stroke configuration optimized for continuous heavy-duty compaction work.
