During replacement, the wire rope should be pulled taut with a screwdriver while raising the winch to wind it properly onto the drum—the manual specifies the rope "should be wrapped beautifully" to ensure optimal performance. The winch assembly includes a bracket with pulley secured by M8x40 bolts, nuts, and spacers that must be removed during wire rope service. After installation, the winch cover is reinstalled using four M6x10 flange bolts.
