This plate assembly holds the two-piece eccentric weight at the proper angle to transmit vibration both laterally and vertically through the blade, producing the 5,500 vibrations per minute that simultaneously level the slab surface and consolidate concrete beneath. When the eccentric assembly fails or wears, operators will notice insufficient vibration, inability to properly level and smooth concrete floors, or excessive vibration that prevents smooth travel across rail supports.
