The rain door is a critical hydraulically-actuated ventilation component for Multiquip Studio Generator enclosures, specifically designed for Tier 4F emission-compliant units. Located on the roof of the generator set enclosure near the control panel, this door provides intelligent intake air management under varying weather conditions.

Upon diesel engine startup, hydraulic pressure fills the actuating cylinder and opens the door, allowing intake air to pass through the opening and across the engine's radiator for optimal cooling. The rain door system works in coordination with the front ventilation door—during rainy conditions, the roof ventilation door automatically closes when the front ventilation door is opened, preventing water intrusion while maintaining proper airflow to the engine compartment.
