The circuit breaker is a critical safety and power control component in Multiquip super silent generator systems, protecting the alternator and connected loads from overcurrent conditions while enabling precise control of power distribution in both single-unit and parallel operation configurations. This motorized breaker automatically closes to provide power to loads when the bus is dead, or synchronizes first before closing when joining an already-energized bus in parallel systems.

In parallel generator applications, this circuit breaker plays an essential role in the synchronization process—the controller will start and synchronize the unit, then close the motorized breaker to electrically lock the generator in parallel with other units. The breaker will trip due to overcurrent conditions if voltage presets differ between paralleling units or if synchronization parameters are not properly matched, protecting the entire paralleling system from shutdown. During startup procedures, the breaker turns ON automatically once synchronization is complete, with voltage and frequency automatically adjusted by the digital controller.
