The head cover is a critical sealing component for the ST3050D 3-inch submersible pump, protecting the internal motor assembly and electrical connections from water intrusion. This cast component creates the sealed upper housing that allows the pump to operate safely while fully submerged, working in conjunction with the double mechanical oil-filled seals to maintain the pump's waterproof integrity. Failure symptoms include visible water intrusion, moisture in the motor compartment, or damage to the ergonomically designed carry handle assembly mounted to the head cover.

The ST3050D is a heavy-duty 5 HP submersible pump designed for standing water, excavation, site drainage, and well casings. It features a compact 10.2-inch diameter design, 230/460V three-phase power, and can pump up to 264 gallons per minute with a maximum head of 86 feet. The head cover houses the secure, sealed power cable attachment assembly and strain relief protection for the 49.2-foot molded power cord.
