This right-hand spider assembly with five blade positions is the critical connection point between your power trowel's gearbox shaft and trowel arms, transmitting rotational force while allowing precise blade pitch adjustment for quality concrete finishing. The spider plate features bronze bushing inserts for each trowel arm mounting point and includes integrated adjustment bolts that contact the lower wear plate on the thrust collar—essential for maintaining consistent blade pitch across all five positions.

Installation requires removal of the set screw and jam nut from the spider assembly side before lifting the gearbox off the main shaft. Each trowel arm secures to the spider plate via a hex head bolt (with Zerk fitting) and roll pin. The adjustment bolts on each trowel arm lever should barely make contact (.010" clearance) with the lower wear plate when blades are pitched flat on a true surface. If one bolt doesn't make visible contact, adjustment is necessary to prevent uneven finishing quality. Bronze bushings must be inspected during spider removal and replaced if worn.
