The suction cover is a critical component that provides access to the pump casing cavity for cleaning debris and maintaining optimal pump performance in 2-inch trash pump applications. This cover works in conjunction with four locking knobs to seal the pump casing and allows technicians to remove accumulated solids up to 1.00 inch (25.4 mm) in diameter that can impact the pump's maximum discharge rate of 211 gallons per minute.

As part of the pump housing assembly on the QP2TB series trash pumps, this suction cover enables routine maintenance access to the impeller and casing area. Regular inspection and cleaning through this access point helps maintain the pump's maximum suction lift of 25 feet (7.6 meters) at sea level and prevents performance degradation. The cover must be properly sealed to maintain the pump's self-priming capability and maximum pressure rating of 42 psi (292 kPa).
