The pump casing is the main housing component that contains the impeller and creates the chamber necessary for centrifugal force to expel water through the discharge ports. This critical component works in conjunction with the clean-out cover and must be filled with water before operation to enable proper self-priming function. The casing features a drain plug that must be removed after usage and for storage to prevent freeze damage and corrosion.

On QP2TB series trash pumps, the casing handles water at maximum pressures up to 42 psi (292 kPa) and maximum head of 98 feet (30.0 meters), with discharge capacity of 211 gallons per minute. The casing cavity is accessible via the clean-out cover, which is secured by four locking knobs that turn counterclockwise to loosen. This access allows for removal of debris and solids up to 1.00 inch diameter that may become lodged inside during trash pump operations.
