The flapper valve assembly controls directional flow within the diaphragm pump waterbox, allowing water to move in one direction while preventing backflow during operation. This critical component works in conjunction with the diaphragm and connecting rod to maintain proper pumping action and priming capability in Multiquip diaphragm pumps.

During operation, the flapper valve opens and closes with each stroke cycle to regulate water flow through the inlet and outlet ports. A worn or damaged flapper valve assembly can result in reduced pumping efficiency, loss of prime, or complete pump failure. The connecting rod bearing should be greased every 25 hours of operation by removing the plunger guard to access the waterbox components including this valve assembly.

This assembly is designed for the MQD2H and MQD2HA series diaphragm pumps. When servicing, ensure all hoses remain securely attached to pump ports and check for any suction leaks in hose connections, as even small leaks can prevent proper priming.
