The ST41230/ST41460 series pumps utilize an oil-bathed dual silicon carbide mechanical seal system with an oil-lifting connector spring that enhances cooling for extended component longevity. This seal assembly operates in conjunction with the 40 oz. oil chamber and protects the 10 HP motor rated for temperatures up to 140°F (60°C). Common failure symptoms requiring seal replacement include water in the mechanical seal oil chamber, reduced pumping performance, or visible oil leakage.
