The spider assembly is the central component that connects trowel arms to the hydraulic motor shaft, distributing rotational force across all four blade arms for smooth, consistent concrete finishing. This right-hand 4-blade spider configuration is critical for balanced operation—worn or damaged spiders cause wobbling, bouncing, and uneven swirls in finished concrete.

During troubleshooting, check the fit of arms in the spider by moving trowel arms up and down. If there is more than 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) of travel at the arm tip, the spider and arms should be replaced. Inspect spider bushings and wear plates during blade replacement or when addressing finishing inconsistencies. The spider plate mounts directly to the hydraulic motor shaft and is secured with a retaining screw and cap plug. All four trowel arms with bronze bushings insert into the spider plate, with grease holes properly aligned for lubrication.

This assembly includes the spider plate and attachment hardware. Replace when components are damaged, out-of-round, or when trowel arm clearances exceed factory specifications.
