The hydraulic pump is the heart of the hydrostatic drive system on Multiquip ride-on rollers, providing pressurized hydraulic fluid to power the drum motors, steering cylinder, and vibration system. This pump delivers the hydraulic pressure required for both forward/reverse travel and drum vibration control, operating at system pressures between 800-1,000 psi under normal conditions. The hydraulic system on these rollers uses ISO 46 anti-wear hydraulic fluid and features a double-filtration design with a screen-type filter in the reservoir filler neck and additional in-system filtration.

When performing hydraulic pressure testing, readings should range between 800-1,000 psi at full throttle (3,500 ±50 RPM). Before testing or maintenance, always check the hydraulic oil level using the sight glass - fluid must be visible between the top and bottom marks. Common symptoms of pump failure include loss of travel speed, weak vibration function, or inability to maintain proper system pressure. The pump connects to the hydraulic manifold which distributes pressure to front and rear drum motors and the steering column.
