The relief valve controls maximum hydraulic system pressure in ride-on rollers, protecting the hydrostatic pump, hydraulic motors, and steering components from overpressure damage. This VR36H relief valve is a critical component in the hydraulic manifold assembly that regulates pressure to maintain safe operating limits during forward/reverse drive operations and steering functions.

In Multiquip AR-series rollers, relief valves work in conjunction with the hydraulic manifold to control flow to drum motors and the steering cylinder. During maintenance and adjustment procedures, technicians connect a 5,000 psi pressure gauge to the manifold's quick disconnect test port to verify proper relief valve settings while the engine runs at full throttle.
