The traveling lever joint controls directional movement on the MRH601DS vibratory roller, allowing operators to shift between forward, reverse, and neutral positions. This critical control component requires proper functioning to ensure safe and effective machine operation during compaction work.

This part is part of an improved lever design introduced in Service Bulletin VR20140813 to address issues with the original traveling lever assembly. The earlier design experienced problems with bolts becoming loose during operation, causing rust formation around the screw threads of the lever shaft. This updated joint design eliminates the problematic bolt configuration, providing more reliable operation and reduced maintenance requirements. When operating the roller, the lever must pass through the neutral position when shifting from forward to reverse to prevent damage to the hydraulic system.
