Multiquip 804551 Lever Assembly FWD/REV - OEM Replacement Part

The Forward/Reverse Lever Assembly controls the hydrostatic pump that directs high-pressure oil flow to the front and rear drum drive motors, enabling directional control of the roller. This cable-connected assembly is mounted on the right side of the operator seat and manually actuates the hydrostatic transmission system. When placed in forward position, the lever signals the hydrostatic pump to supply high-pressure oil through port A of the valve block to drive motors. In reverse position, oil flow direction reverses with port B becoming high-pressure and port A becoming suction.

This lever assembly is critical for safe operation—the roller must come to a complete stop in neutral before shifting between forward and reverse positions to prevent damage to the transmission and drive system. A toggle switch located on the side of the travel lever provides additional functionality for machine control. Failure symptoms include inability to shift directions, loose or disconnected cable operation, or lack of response from the hydrostatic system.
