The terminal output provides the critical electrical connection point for welding cables on the GAW-135H DC welder/AC generator, allowing technicians to establish proper polarity for arc welding applications. This component is one of the two output terminals (positive and negative) where welding electrode and ground cables connect to complete the welding circuit.
The GAW-135H operates at a rated output of 135 amps with selectable current settings of 40, 60, 80, 115, and 135 amps for various welding applications. These output terminals must maintain secure connections to prevent electrical arcing or dielectric breakdown during operation. The unit's 40% duty cycle at rated current demands terminals that can handle continuous thermal cycling. For straight polarity welding—used for steel material in general structures and thick plates—the positive terminal connects to the grounding cable while the negative connects to the electrode holder.
Failed or corroded output terminals can cause poor electrical contact, excessive heat buildup, voltage drops during welding, or complete failure to strike an arc. Always ensure the generator/welder is OFF before replacing terminals, and use properly sized terminal connectors—never attach bare or exposed wires directly to these terminals.
