Multiquip EM98120 Switch Forward/Reverse /70 - OEM Replacement Part

The forward/reverse switch controls the direction of hydraulic oil flow from the hydrostatic pump to the drum drive motors, enabling operators to change travel direction on ride-on rollers and other equipment. Located on or near the travel control lever, this toggle switch activates the directional valve that determines whether high-pressure oil flows through port A (forward) or port B (reverse) in the valve block manifold.

In forward position, the switch signals the hydrostatic pump to direct high-pressure oil to the front and rear drum drive motors through port A, with return oil flowing back through port B. When switched to reverse, oil flow direction is reversed—port B becomes high-pressure and port A becomes suction. This component is critical for proper machine operation and should be replaced if directional control becomes unresponsive or intermittent. During hydrostatic pump service or forward/reverse control cable adjustment, technicians should verify switch operation and electrical connections.
