The cylinder shuttle is a critical component in the reciprocating piston pumping system that directs concrete flow between the two delivery cylinders, enabling the continuous pumping cycle in trailer-mounted concrete pumps. This shuttle assembly operates under high pressure conditions up to 800 PSI (55.16 bar) and handles aggregate sizes up to 1-1/2 inches, making it essential for maintaining consistent pumping rates up to 30 cubic yards per hour.

During operation, the shuttle tube works in conjunction with hydraulic cylinders and proximity switches to alternate concrete flow between cylinders A and B, creating the reciprocating pumping action. Regular maintenance is critical as pumping aggregate concrete or high-fines content mixes can cause hardened concrete buildup on the internal shuttle tube surfaces.
