The belt guard protects operators from contact with the drive belt on Multiquip BPX backpack vibrators during concrete consolidation operations. This critical safety component prevents access to moving V-belt components while the gasoline engine is running, reducing risk of injury during pouring, finishing, and vibrator positioning.

According to Multiquip specifications, the belt guard is secured with seven bolts to the BPX frame assembly. During routine V-belt inspections, the guard must be removed to check for belt wear or defects that could adversely affect vibrator performance. The guard works in conjunction with the BPX's lightweight metal alloy frame, which features an engine support platform with a swivel base for improved operator leverage. The backpack vibrator system includes a Honda GXH50 2.5-horsepower engine mounted on three rubber isolators and accommodates various flexible shaft lengths for applications including large retaining walls, bridge decks, and columns.
