This assembly supports the spindle shaft and upper pulley system that drives the vibration function, operating at 10,600 RPMs when the engine runs at 3,600 RPMs. The eccentric design also serves as the belt tensioning mechanism—rotating the countershaft assembly clockwise tightens the V-belts to the proper specification of 5-10mm deflection under 5-10 pounds of central force between pulleys.
