The engine control module (ECM) mounts on the Controller Plate assembly of the Wacker Neuson G 125 mobile generator and continuously monitors vital engine functions, triggering automatic shutdowns and displaying fault codes on the LCD panel when operating parameters fall outside safe limits.
When installed and active, the ECM tracks oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and engine speed in real time. If oil pressure drops below 15 psi, coolant temperature rises too high, or fuel level falls to 5%, the module initiates an automatic engine shutdown to protect the unit. It also responds to overspeed conditions, cutting the engine when speed exceeds approximately 2000 rpm (110% of the rated 1800 rpm speed), and logs an overcrank fault if the engine fails to start during the normal cranking cycle.
The module interfaces with the generator through four dedicated connectors. Plug 1 is a 12-pin connector handling engine sender inputs including fuel level, emergency stop, and remote start contacts. Plug 2 is an 8-pin connector managing starter relay outputs and E-stop switch supply. Plug 3 is a 6-pin connector receiving current transformer inputs for ammeter lines. Plug 4 is a 4-pin connector taking line voltage inputs across L1, L2, and L3.
To reset the ECM after a shutdown fault, return the Engine Start Switch manually to the off position before attempting a restart.
