The free-floating frame is the isolated upper assembly of the Wacker Neuson vibratory rammer, mounting the converter, inverter, switch, and associated electrical and mechanical components as a complete sub-assembly separate from the compaction drive unit. This part is listed as the free-floating frame complete assembly, positioned at the free-floating frame cpl. location on the machine.
According to Wacker Neuson service documentation for the AS50e, proper installation of this assembly involves mounting shock pegs on both the left and right sides, fitting two bellows starting from the bottom of the air duct, and seating the upper edges of the bellows once both lower sections are in place. The inverter attaches directly to the free-floating frame, with the plug secured in a foam element bracket. The converter is fastened using two pan head screws torqued to 10 Nm with a Torx T40 driver, and three cylinder screws with washers and lock washers are also installed with the T40. A clamp with two screws provides strain relief using a Torx T25 driver.
Internal components referenced in the assembly include a leg spring, spring holder, conical spring washer, check plate, fitted slotted pin, axle, side cover, protective hood, foam element, and multiple fastener types. This is a complete frame assembly and not an individual hardware item.
