This is the Riello G400 gas burner assembly for the Wacker Neuson E3000 hydronic surface heater and ground heater series, positioned in the gas burner kit as the core combustion unit responsible for igniting and sustaining the flame that drives the heating system.
According to Wacker Neuson service documentation for the E3000, the burner is factory-set to a firing rate of 10.4 L/hr (2.75 gph), with a fuel pressure of 10.3 bar (150 psi), an air band setting of 6.5, an air shutter position of 0, and a nozzle size of 80 degrees B, using head setting F220. The burner consists of multiple components and subsystems, each of which must function correctly for proper operation. Adjustments must be performed at the job site using a high-quality combustion analyzer, a smoke spot tester, a fuel pressure gauge, and general hand tools, in conformance with applicable local, state, and federal codes.
Low ambient temperatures can cause diesel fuel to gel, leading to ignition failure or fuel pump damage. Wacker Neuson provides a fuel blend guide for the E3000: above 25 degrees F (-4 C), winter-blend diesel is acceptable; between 5 and 25 degrees F (-15 to -4 C), a 70-30 blend of number 2 diesel and number 1 diesel or K1 kerosene plus additives is recommended; below 5 degrees F (-15 C), a 50-50 blend or 100% K1 kerosene plus additives is required depending on power source.
