This shockmount installs in the engine/generator assembly of Wacker Neuson G150, G180, G230, and G240 mobile generators, isolating the engine and generator unit from the frame to absorb vibration and reduce stress on surrounding components during operation.
Shockmounts in generator applications serve a continuous duty role, absorbing the cyclical vibration produced by diesel engines running at governed speed. On the G150, G180, and G230 generator series, the engine and generator are mounted as a coupled assembly, and the shockmounts at that interface bear constant load through all operating conditions including cold weather starts and extended runtime. A worn or failed shockmount allows metal-to-metal contact that can accelerate wear on adjacent fasteners, housings, and wiring harnesses. Inspecting shockmounts as part of routine generator service is advisable, particularly on units that have accumulated significant hours or operate in high-vibration environments.
