This starter housing is the outer structural shell of the recoil or rewind starter assembly, enclosing and protecting the starter mechanism on a range of Wacker Neuson compactors, trowels, generators, pumps, and screeds. It appears in the starter assembly location across multiple machine families, including configurations listed as CT36-8A Starter, CT48-8A Starter, HPG100A Starter, HPG50A Starter, PT3A(I) Starter Cpl., Recoil Starter, Rewind Starter cpl., and Rewind Starter-Carburetor.
The starter housing forms the mounting body that holds the rewind spring, pulley, and rope guide in correct alignment for consistent pull-start engagement. A cracked, broken, or worn housing can cause the starter rope to bind, the rewind mechanism to fail to retract, or the entire starter assembly to separate from the engine. Replacing the housing restores proper rope travel and protects the internal starter components from debris and damage.
