The V belt transmits power between pulleys in the generator drivetrain. During routine maintenance, inspect the belt carefully for cracks, cuts, fraying, or contact with the base of the V belt groove. A belt showing any of these conditions requires replacement. If the pulleys themselves show damage, replace the belt at the same time. On related Wacker Neuson generator platforms, proper belt tension is confirmed by applying moderate thumb pressure between the pulleys and checking for the specified deflection. Too little or too much deflection indicates the belt needs adjustment or replacement before continued operation.
